Christmas in July....

My customer is thinking ahead to Christmas!  Some people are a lot more organized than I am.  But I got to quilt her quilt.  It was sort of a blue-ish charcoal colour background with the Xmas tree print.  I'm not good at getting the colours very well with my camera so a few of the pix look quite washed out - but the quilting still shows up.

Mittens in the bottom background sections, stars in the top background sections, ribbon candy in the sashing and little Christmas gift boxes with bows in the border.

Below is a little square in square quilt.  Same customer.

Gravity

This is the Gravity quilt, another customer quilt.  What's not to like about this quilt?  Great colours and great design.   I had a lot of fun quilting it.

Gypsy Wife: First Place

I quilted another Jen Kingwell quilt for Dianne for this year's Stampede show - Gypsy Wife.  It won a first place ribbon!  I have to say, these quilts are growing on me.  They are rather busy, but also very random and colourful, which I love!

Rebel, Rebel!

(Rebel, Rebel - With apologies to David Bowie)  Song lyrics often pop into my head at moments like this.  I just pulled this "The Rebel" quilt off my frame.  This is such a cool quilt and such a simple concept.  It's a Libs Elliot design as pieced by my customer, Susan L.  Susan said she wanted "dense" quilting on it, which I interpret as "go crazy"!  So I did.  I love it - hope she will to - she' picking it up shortly.

The quilting is random in one way, but not in another - I used a few motifs throughout the quilt in various forms (small, large, partial).  I some instances I "framed" sections.  There are, for example, three stars and a couple of places where I did some "graffiti quilting".  Then there are the "flowers" - using arcs.  I may have missed one or two in the pix.  I didn't want it to be too "girly" as I believe the quilt will be going to a young man.
