All the Way from South Africa!

Phyllis is a returning customer - all the way from South Africa!  Her daughter and a couple of grandkids live here so she comes to visit them from time to time.  And she brings quilt tops.  Easier to pack before they are quilted so she has brought them to me for quilting.  This year there is an "adult" quilt and a "kids" quilt.  So first up is the adult quilt.  It's a medallion sampler quilt for lack of a better description.  Except for the centre medallion there are two of each block.  I quilted each pair the same way - more or less!

And here is the kid's quilt.  She used her embroidery machine to stitch out 8 different air transportation motifs.  Very cute!

Another Meadow Quilt!

Kathy asked me to quilt her Meadow quilt.  This is the second Meadow quilt  I've quilted and they are such pretty quilts!

I took a few "close ups" to show the variegated thread, but I'm not a great photographer and the lighting wasn't great either so it really doesn't show up in the pix the way I had hoped.  Anyway, I'm really happy with the way the thread looks.  I used it in the "grunge" borders and it's just perfect.

A word about thread:  I mostly use Glide thread as it runs really well in my machine and it looks nice - it has a nice sheen to it.  But I wasn't so happy with the Glide variegated thread as it breaks too much.  This variegated thread is Wonderfil Fabulux.
