BQ and Others

This is Kristie's BQ quilt.  She said to do "whatever" so I did!  My favourite kind of quilting!  All the blocks are different.

I also finished Michelle's quilts.  She said she didn't like feathers, but does like circles.  So I put in lots of circles/curves and no feathers.  On this first one, I would have used feathers because I think the quilt suits them, but resisted.

The below quilt is a small quilt using 2 inch finished squares.  I neglected to get a pix of the entire quilt but I did it all the same way with the exception of the border and centre medallion.

This is the back - something fuzzy like Minky but not.

Metro Rings

I finished this Metro Rings quilt on Saturday.  I'm very happy with the way it turned out.  This is a Sew Kind of Wonderful design and I quilted it the same way the designer quilted her sample quilt.  I'm excited about it because I have a Metro Rings top made and waiting for quilting that is to go to my son and daughter-in-law when it is finished.  I will quilt it the same way because this one turned out so well!

The Sharon F File

Sharon F dropped off five quilts way back sometime in the summer.  I've been super busy with summer activities (road trips, Alaska cruise - it's a hard life when you're "retired"! ) and of course, quilting.  Anyway, I finally got to them.  She's coming to pick them up later today, so I checked for loose threads and did the photo shoot.  Here's what they look like:

There are two black/white/red numbers.  The top one is made from left over blocks from the bigger one further below.  They reminded me of art deco, so I tried to quilt them to enhance that feel.  I did them both the same with minor variation in the borders because I wasn't sure of the end use - if they are seen together it would probably work better if they are the same.  I may be the only one who thinks that way (the art deco/sameness thing), but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

This is smallish table runner.  Here I wanted to have the quilting flow with the fabric design, which looks like water drops flowing off a window in the rain.  Call me crazy.

Appliqued flowers - echoed.  Floral in the green border and a variation of orange peel in the squares.

Sharon did have a name for this quilt (below) but I can't remember what it is.  In any event, to me it's "traditional" and floral so what better than to feather the heck out of it?

Christmas in July....

My customer is thinking ahead to Christmas!  Some people are a lot more organized than I am.  But I got to quilt her quilt.  It was sort of a blue-ish charcoal colour background with the Xmas tree print.  I'm not good at getting the colours very well with my camera so a few of the pix look quite washed out - but the quilting still shows up.

Mittens in the bottom background sections, stars in the top background sections, ribbon candy in the sashing and little Christmas gift boxes with bows in the border.

Below is a little square in square quilt.  Same customer.
