Sharon F dropped off five quilts way back sometime in the summer. I've been super busy with summer activities (road trips, Alaska cruise - it's a hard life when you're "retired"! ) and of course, quilting. Anyway, I finally got to them. She's coming to pick them up later today, so I checked for loose threads and did the photo shoot. Here's what they look like:
There are two black/white/red numbers. The top one is made from left over blocks from the bigger one further below. They reminded me of art deco, so I tried to quilt them to enhance that feel. I did them both the same with minor variation in the borders because I wasn't sure of the end use - if they are seen together it would probably work better if they are the same. I may be the only one who thinks that way (the art deco/sameness thing), but I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.
This is smallish table runner. Here I wanted to have the quilting flow with the fabric design, which looks like water drops flowing off a window in the rain. Call me crazy.
Appliqued flowers - echoed. Floral in the green border and a variation of orange peel in the squares.
Sharon did have a name for this quilt (below) but I can't remember what it is. In any event, to me it's "traditional" and floral so what better than to feather the heck out of it?
