Spent some more of today working away on Dorothy's quilt. So far, so good - I'm pretty happy with it!

Structured Quilting
I started quilting Dorothy's quilt last night. Making it up as I go. So far really pleased with it. Her quilt reminds me of a few things - Celtic design and mosaic tiles. I decided to work with the tiles idea. It's going to be fairly densely quilted by the time it's done - necessary to pick up some "wavy" fabric. And I think it will look nice, too!

Starting into the body of the quilt. More pix to come as the work progresses.

First Judged Show
One of my customers entered a quilt that I quilted for her into the Calgary Stampede's Creative Arts & Crafts exhibition, which is a judged show. The quilt won a second place ribbon. The quilt is the Midnight at the Oasis quilt pattern by Jen Kingwell. I took the top pix, the next one was taken at the Stampede and shows the ribbon - I grabbed it off Facebook so it's not a great pix. It was a fun quilt to quilt - lots of tiny pieces to work with - the idea is to make the piecing pop with the quilting. I was happy with it when it was done. Needless to say, I am very happy about the quilt winning a ribbon!
